Original Medicare consists of two parts; Part A and Part B. Each part provides different benefits, and combined, they offer full major health coverage. If you are curious about what Part A offers, here are the details.
Choose a location:
Medicare Part A is the hospital insurance component of Original Medicare. It provides recipients with coverage for care provided in hospitals, as well as other health care facilities. If you are admitted to the hospital, your Part A coverage will pay up to a certain point.
Part A coverage is available premium-free as well. But in order to acquire Part A for free, you must pay Medicare taxes for the required amount of time. If you don’t you must pay premiums every month to maintain coverage. Though, these premiums may be lower if you’ve paid enough into Medicare taxes.

If you need to enroll in Part A, you can do so as soon as you become eligible. Depending on if you already have started receiving Social Security benefits, you may be enrolled automatically. If you aren’t enrolled automatically, you can enroll online, or in person at a Social Security Administration office.
