Malhotra & Assoc. Insurance Has You Covered

Medicare Supplements Plans

If you’ll be enrolling in Medicare traditional coverage option, Original Medicare, you should consider purchasing a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan as well. These plans can help lower your costs when using your Original Medicare benefits. There are many options available, each providing a unique arrangement of benefits.

These plans help cover the out-of-pocket costs associated with Medicare Parts A and B, which may include deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. The coverage will depend on the plan you choose.

At Malhotra & Assoc. Insurance, we suggest that Medicare recipients review their Medicare Supplement options before buying a policy. After many years in this industry, we’ve developed powerful knowledge that allows us to provide personalized care to each of our clients. We’ll help you choose a plan that fits your needs and budget.

Who Sells Medicare Supplement Plans?

The plans are sold by private insurance companies, but each plan is standardized. Therefore, all providers must offer the same benefits under each plan. Depending on where you live, some plans may not be available. To learn which plans you have access to in your area, get in touch with us at Malhotra & Assoc. Insurance.

What Are Medicare Supplement Plans For?

Medicare Supplement plans help you pay for the costs that remain after Medicare pays their approved portion for covered health care services. You can use Medigap plans to cut down on your overall health care costs, and to make managing your benefits far simpler. Unfortunately, you cannot buy a Medicare Supplement plan if you’re enrolled in Medicare Advantage.

Benefits of Medicare Supplement Plans

There are ten different Medicare Supplement plans. They are plans A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, N. Each plan offers different benefits, with some being more comprehensive and others more basic.

The basic plans all offer at least the following benefits:

  • Covered Part B Coinsurance or Copayments
  • Covered Part A Hospice Care Coinsurance or Copayments
  • Covered 3 Pints of Blood
  • Covered Part A Coinsurance
  • Covered Part A Hospital Costs

Additional benefits can be acquired by purchasing more comprehensive plans. Some of the more comprehensive plans offer these more advanced benefits:

  • Covered Part A Deductible
  • Skilled Nursing Facility Coinsurance
  • Part B Excess Charges
  • Foreign Travel Emergencies (up to 80%)
  • Covered Part B Deductible

In general, the more comprehensive the plan, the less you’ll have to pay for Medicare-approved services. The most comprehensive plans, Plan F, Plan G, and Plan C, all cover a majority of the costs listed above.
